Greenfinch Team Over the past few years, Greenfinch has grown to accommodate 25 key members of staff and relocated to larger premises in December 2006. Directors: Michael Chesshire, Managing Director and founder of the company, Michael is a graduate engineer from Cambridge University (1st class), and has spent most of his professional career since 1975 working in the field of anaerobic digestion and biogas. He was the founder of Farmgas Ltd, which grew to become a major digester supplier in the 1980's and early 1990's until it was acquired by a UK water company, by which time it had 120 employees working exclusively on the design, construction and commissioning of digesters, particularly for the treatment of sewage sludge. Michael founded Greenfinch in 1993. Within 14 years, Greenfinch has grown from 3 to 25 employees, and has been awarded contracts such as the 7 full-scale biogas plants on cattle farms in Southwest Scotland and the South Shropshire Biowaste Digester that is the first of its kind within the UK to process source separated household kitchen waste. Michael is Chairman of the Renewable Energy Association Biogas Group, and is a well known and respected figure within the anaerobic digestion industry. He is a regular presenter on the subject of biogas technology/renewable energy at conferences in both the UK and overseas. Russell Mulliner, Operations Director of Greenfinch, Russell is a highly skilled mechanical designer and engineer. He is involved in tendering for contracts, pricing, CAD design, research and development, troubleshooting, and day-to-day maintenance and operation of anaerobic digestion plants. Russell designs all of the Greenfinch R&D facilities and equipment and is responsible for the mechanical design, fabrication and operation of all Greenfinch projects; including the Ludlow and Scottish plants, and Welsh Water refurbishment projects.
