Biofertiliser

Farm Digestion

The economic viability of an anaerobic digester is completely dependant on the individual circumstances of the project.

The main revenue streams result from gate fees, where applicable, and electricity sales.   Additional monetary gain can be made through utilising the heat and recycling the nutrients in the biofertiliser for beneficial use.

To illustrate the individuality of a project there are many variables within each of the revenue streams.   For example;

•  The value of the electricity can be higher if it is utilised on site, offsetting the requirement to purchase wholesale electricity.   The electricity supply companies will sell electricity to you for a higher price than they will buy it back.   The total price (including the ROC) may range from a total of £80 per MW.hr to £160 per MW.hr.

•  The gate fee may vary from £20 - >£100 depending on the type of waste you import, for instance whether or not it contains animal by-products.

Greenfinch encourage initial enquiries to determine what the objectives of the project are from the outset.
