The Perfect Recipe?

Greenfinch does not have the ideal recipe as we believe that the ideal feedstock is very specific to each individual project.   Although the biological process is at the heart of all projects, transportation and cost of feedstock are also crucial factors that need to be considered and may not necessarily make the "ideal" feedstock financially viable.   Greenfinch believes that feedstocks should be as local as possible.   These could include, dairy processing waste, brewery waste, energy crops (maize, grass silage, etc), cow or pig slurry, catering waste, vegetable and food manufacturing waste, this list is extensive.

Animal by-products

Plants that choose to treat category 3 animal by products must have the approval of the Animal Health Authority.   These products include, catering waste (including municipal kitchen waste), abattoir waste. The capital cost of an ABP compliant plant is high due to the requirement to meet the regulations; however gate fees and electricity sales help to offset this.
